Rawlins Cross
Saturday, January 24, 2009
In St. John's, Newfoundland, Rawlins Cross is the name for a wild convergence of streets near the windblown centre of town. A fitting moniker, surely, for a group of musicians who came together not far from that intersection ten years ago. Their unusual sound, after all, could best be described as a crossroads where centuries of Scottish, Irish and Atlantic-Canadian musical traditions meet the straight-ahead drive of North American rock n' roll. After many successful tours, awards, and six CD releases, including two on the Warner label, the band disbanded in 2001. Until now... they are Back! Mainstage Theatre, Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 8 p.m. Tickets: $25 www.rawlinscross.ca
