Pedestrians and Cyclists
Pedestrians and cyclists are not permitted on the Confederation Bridge for their own safety. A shuttle service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on a load-and-go basis. There is ample room for baggage and bicycles, and children less than 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Service is available from the Bridge Operations Building in Gateway Village in Borden-Carleton, PEI, and from the Cape Jourimain Nature Centre located at exit 51 on Highway 16 at the foot of the bridge.

A toll of $4 per pedestrian and $8 per cyclist will be collected when leaving Prince Edward Island.

Bridge tolls are for the round trip, and are paid when leaving Prince Edward Island at the toll plaza in Borden - Carleton, PEI. The bridge operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Reservations are not required.

For Your Safety:

Crossing the Bridge at the maximum posted speed of 80 km/hr takes about 10 minutes. Bridge control staff may lower the speed limit according to prevailing weather and traffic conditions.

Vehicles are not permitted to stop on the Bridge or pass other vehicles. Cameras and dedicated bridge personnel monitor bridge traffic at all times.
