Bridge tolls for the return/round trip are paid only when departing Prince Edward Island and are collected at the toll plaza in Borden-Carleton, P.E.I. The Confederation Bridge operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is more economical to leave P.E.I. via the Confederation Bridge than by ferry.
