"I have been going to Prince Edward Island each summer since I was a child, which at that time meant taking the ferry across from New Brunswick. The hardest part was the wait for the ferry and then how long it took for it to cross. When the Confederation Bridge was built I was worried about losing the heritage of the ferry system, but after the bridge was finished I was amazed at how much it simplified my journey to the Island. It cut my driving time by at least a half and hour depending on whether or not I had to wait for a ferry. It is so simple and so well built, that I feel much more confident and happy traveling to the Island. To all involved with the construction, I wish to say thanks!!"

"When I come home to New Brunswick, I always enjoy going to PEI and now the Bridge makes it so convenient. When I was visiting Shediac in August it allowed me to go to PEI and spend time with family. Without having to worry about meeting schedules of the ferry. I was able to make a day trip!"

"I've been travelling to PEI from Massachusetts for over 50 years (since I was five years old), and the bridge has cut down on our travel time by as much as two hours - thought I would hate the bridge, because I loved the ferry, but I love the bridge even more - it gets us to the cottage that much faster!"

"Although I was born in New Brunswick, we moved to New York State when I was five. We do get to Canada for visits every few years, and have made a few trips to Prince Edward Island and always enjoy it. The last trip we made, we took the ferry boat over to the Island and had a very nice few days on the Island. We thought it would be fun to return via the Confederation Bridge. First, we spent some time at the Bridge Visitor's Center which was wonderful. The displays were very educational and it was a lot of fun to go through all the shops, picking up some nice mementos of our trip. Finally, when we finished there and took some photos outside, we crossed the bridge. It was a beautiful day out so we had a nice clear view in all directions. We saw what looked like a cruise ship coming from off in the distance which was neat to see too. Visiting the Island in itself is a wonderful vacation, and it was fun to have crossing the bridge when we left as one last thing to see. It is a tourist item all by itself. We hope to return soon!"

"The bridge has allowed travelling to PEI much more enjoyable, and accessible. There is no wait time and it is possible to travel across at any time of the day or night. It definitely was a great addition to the Maritimes."

"The bridge is beautiful you could see so far. The kids were excited to see a few sail boats not far off. We were in the van so I believe you are able to see a bit more. I could not believe the difference once on the other side. How beautiful the village has grown. It is truly something built for tourist but also the extras for the people of Borden."

"The bridge is a wonderful way to travel to the island. It is fast, convenient and safe. I can get there easily and without any delays. Making any stay on the island an enjoyable one."

- Carl Osmond, Moncton, NB

"As a performer I used to dread shows on PEI because you had to line-up to get there and 'race' to the boat to get home....now I'm proud to say I live on the Island and travel from here.....Moving to Charlottetown from Moncton was really only practical because of the Confederation Bridge."
